So How Does It Work?
 

The GS3060 is usually installed between the telephone connection of  your security control panel and telephone line. When configured to operate in backup role, the DSC GS3060 communicator assesses the connection to the PSTN phone line, and if that has failed, it then connects to the GSM network to send an alarm signal to the Pre-Lock Security monitoring station.  In a primary role which is usually configured in homes with no phone lins at all, the communicator simply sends the alarm transmission over the GSM network immediately.

The alarm signals are transmitted directly to our Pre-Lock Security IP linecard in the monitoring station receiver (Sur-Gard System II/System III) without the need of clearinghouse involvement.

Activating and initializing the GS3060 can be done using the automated telephone activation system (VRU) or web-user interface provided by CONNECT 24. No special tools are required.

Advance Panel Transmission Monitoring
The GS3060 can intelligently monitor the panel transmission and switch over to the GSM network when the phone line is down. This function will occur for both traditional POTS and newer digital technologies (i.e. VoIP).

UL Listing
The GS3060 has been listed by UL for Residential Fire and Burglary and Commercial Burglary installations. The device has been investigated under the requirements of UL985, UL1023 and UL1610 standards.

Pre-Lock recommends all our customers to consider upgrading to our wireless backup technology to insure transimision is received at our central station which will no happen if interupted prior to a burlglary with a standard telephone line.
